Finally a Universal Red that’s Universally Flattering for All Shades of Beauty!
One of my chief roles as a makeup artist is to help to educate my clients on makeup products so that they make informed decisions when they go to purchase products on their own. Another key mission of mine is helping to liberate women by helping them overcome their fears and reluctances when it comes to wearing certain colors and products. Yes just call me the Myth Buster…The Debunking Diva!! So many of my clients have been conditioned to believe that they can’t wear certain shades of lipstick and/or eyeshadow because of the color of their skin. I talk to so many women who stray away from colors such as blues, reds, oranges, purples, pinks, yellow…I mean the list goes on.
I recently did a bridal party that was comprised of women all of various complexions and ethnicities. I was so super excited to do this wedding because it was comprised of a diverse collection of women. However, what excited me even more was the bride’s choice for their bridal makeup look. She choose a nice traditional eyeshadow look consisting of a soft champagne eyeshadow for the lid, nude brow bone color with a some smokiness in the crease for transition. Again, that wasn’t what excited me. This girl here nearly lost it when I saw that the lip was a beautiful and bold red lip and that she wanted everyone to have this look!
Going into this, I knew the eyes would be a piece of cake. After all, the eyes weren’t the focal point for me, it was all about the lips. Obvious choices that came to mind were MAC’s Russian Red, Lady Danger, Ruby Woo, Kat Von D Prayer, and a few others. Suddenly God dropped it my spirit…STUNNA BY FENTY! yes He and I talk about make up too (don’t judge me) LOL! Stunna was an amazing choice because all of my ladies looked absolutely STUNNING IN STUNNA!!
